Telugu Desam Party
The Telugu Desam Party is an Indian political party based in Andhra Pradesh. It was founded by N. T. Rama Rao in 1982 and is associated with Telugu regional identity, development, welfare, decentralisation and greater state autonomy. The party is currently led by N. Chandrababu Naidu.

TDP won the 1983 Andhra Pradesh Assembly election and N. T. Rama Rao became Chief Minister.
- 1984Lok Sabha breakthrough
